Donna’s Pizza comes to Norwood 31 years after it began in the village of Millbrook on January 13th, 1988. The second Donna’s Pizza opened in Bethany in 1996, and another store was opened in Peterborough in the year 2000. The original owner was Donna Gene Chaplin (1947-2018) Her cheery nature, great smile and dedication to producing a quality product all contributed to making the business a success. Now the third generation of the family will carry on the Donna’s Pizza name. Although the business has gone through some changes over the years the dedication to producing a quality product has not altered.

After Polycystic Kidney Disease made her unable to work, her son Richard took over operations. Donna’s Pizza was sold to a former manager in 2002. They operated as Donna’s Pizza until July 2014. Between 2002 and opening Beyond Ordinary in 2009, Richard managed at some of Canada’s largest pizza shops and gained valuable knowledge. Richard improved on the original recipe over the years to develop a superior product. Due to declining health, he was forced to downsize from four stores. In August 2018, he sold the last remaining store to his son.
In memory of the original owner and driving force behind Donna’s Pizza, the third generation of the family will carry on the Donna’s Pizza name.
